OUR Story

Legend has it that as the 1920s were dawning, my Grandpa Rutledge hopped aboard a train bound from Texas to New York City with nothing but the clothes on his back and a pair of tap shoes, ready to risk it all to pursue his dream in the big city.  The Rutledge Family has grown to embrace that free-spirit, entertaining, creative, side of life!  Rutledge family celebrations usually spiral into spontaneous dancing and singing, creating some of my most favorite moments.

My Papa and Granny Harper created equally impactful moments for me.  Playing in Papa's garden and greenhouse awakened in me a love and amazement for all things that bloom! Although Granny Ruby has been gone for over twenty years, her roses still bloom just outside her dining room window, the room where our family has gathered on so many special occasions to enjoy fantastic meals and lively conversation.

I believe something magical happens when family and friends come together. I believe in pulling out all the stops for birthdays, holidays, weddings, and each of life's milestones!  I believe these moments are the perfect opportunity to celebrate each other and to celebrate these enchanted moments that tie us to each other.

I am truly a product of my heritage with creativity and celebration that runs deep in my veins!  Although I have been hosting epic parties, holidays, and weddings filled with creativity and excitement for many years, my chosen career path has been polar opposite from these organic, creative paths that invigorate and inspire me.  I have always been extremely driven in my pursuit of success.  I graduated at the top of my class, carrying with me the titles of "Miss Pine Tree", "Cutest", "Friendliest", and "Most Likely to Succeed". I graduated from Baylor University's prestigious Hankamer School of Business with a degree in Accounting and went to work for one of the largest accounting firms in the world.  I've invested an infinite number of hours in front of computer screens, nimbly pivoting between email and excel spreadsheets while developing and managing multimillion-dollar budgets.  (Yes, I am the only one seated at the board room table wearing a flower headband and ruffled sleeves!)  I've run for Mayor of my city and held corporate titles of Executive Finance Director and CFO (CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER), all while raising my two amazing children, Kennedy and Brinkley, and being married to my husband, Brad, for twenty-nine years.  My plan has been to run for Congress after my children started college. Well, my baby Brinkley started college this Fall, so now it is time for Congress, right?!

(long pause)

There are pivotal moments in life where you pause, pause and consider, "what if."  What if I don't follow the plan and do something a bit crazy, based in joy, passion, and living a beautiful life?!

Many people search for their path, their purpose, but I've always known mine.  I am a product of all of those fantastic family moments, and I believe it is my calling to help other families create memorable moments that shape and mold their families for years to come.

So this "Miss Pine Tree" is heading back to her roots... literally!  My family and I are moving to a 50-acre pine tree farm where we are creating a beautiful flower farm and special events venue where I will be pursuing my passion for hosting special events for you and your family amid the beauty of all things nature!

So here's to you, Rutledge and Harper family...

I'm super excited to announce my new CFO title...
